User Journey

My personal frustration with the Safeway Mobile App is the inspiration of this UX improvement project. User testing revealed challenges for those with visual impairments attempting to use the digital coupon scan tool.

This report:

  • Focuses on a single task of scanning a coupon while shopping in a Safeway store.

  • Includes a user test, spotting the pain point and recommendations to improve the user experience.

My recommendations were not submitted to Safeway Corporate, however their mobile app has since been updated allowing all users to easily locate and use the scan tool. Images were captured from the Safeway store mobile app.

Tasked to locate an actual grant for a non-profit organization, I chose the Arizona Trail Association (ATA) and a grant by HydroFlask.

This proposal met all grant requirements and included a combination of real statistics, ideal statistics, and a fictitious program.

Combining an affection for the outdoors and a love for the ATA, this was an exceptionally fun, challenging and rewarding project.

This project was heavy in research and creative writing, along with creating a budget and developing an outdoor program.

Training Plan

As part of a communications class, this project included creating a survey to flush out a training need, rank the training needs as noted on the employee and the department manager survey responses, and develop a training plan to close the gap.

The training plan includes ice-breakers, and four unique modules with client scenarios that the team experiences daily. The employee surveys gave each individual input into training topic options that should translate to participation and engagement during each training module.

Surveys were created in Google Forms and the report in Word.
